Thought train #4: on perception and reality or just die Wahrnehmung.

Sitting in the train, gazing at the snow-white mountains in this sunny mid-winter day, I was caught suddenly in this dreamy conversation that I now recall. He -I do not know who he really was, as I said I was suddenly drawn to this guy talking- started talking: “Wahrnehmung/ Wahrnehmen” or Perception or just to perceive. “You know? If you cut it down it literally means the word true/real and the verb to take”. I look at him questionably, wondering even if I was part of this conversation, looking for any other witnesses of this invasion of my privacy (no not really, I was actually eager to hear what he have to offer). He continues: “Now, as a person who likes to play with words and make links between one in a language and one in another, I am always triggered to find the logic, the basic engineering, the, the architecture ingenuity behind a language, I really find this German word amazing.” Rubbing the back of his head, playfully passes his hand on his dark yet graying unruly unkempt cu...

Thought train #3: Conformity of the heard, or just madness shared by two.

He asked me: “Do you think conformity (as in following certain thought process, idea, fashion, be it scientific, social or religious) can be considered as brain wash or thought control?”. I was baffled, I did not know what to say, and at that point, I did not want to argue, to be frank, I just wanted to lay back and listen to this disturbed fading image of a man. He continued: “Media, advertisements, religious and political institutions all bombard us unconsciously with certain images, and ideas that makes us believe that this is the norm, this is the right, this is how should it be, and this is what you should believe. You do not have to think anymore (and of course not critically), just follow blindly, because they know better, and they want the better for us. Follow the heard, or you will be shunned, and you do not want that, it became inherited in us that we think we want to be part of this cog, we believe we want to belong, to be liked, to strive for others acceptance. It b...

Thought Train #1: Life

Ok don't know where to start from. What is life? Which life? One self's life? The life of all people all together, all living things?  The thing is, everything is connected, one can not consider his life alone. I believe or I like to believe that decisions we make affect all of us all together, one way or the other. Still, what is life? My own idea will be picturesque as I like to visualize things. For me life can be just sitting in front of a lake in a sunny winter day. It can be the moment when you step at the highest point of a mountain. It can be free roaming in the night at a very highly populated city. It can be the feeling of a gentle breath of fresh air, it can be the sound of the ocean. The traffic in the morning, and the complete utter silence of the night. It can be the good well deserved night sleep. It can be the break of a sweet while runing across the street while singing like a euphoric teenager. It can be a kiss goodbye. It can be a flight back home. It can be ...

Thought train #2: 5G and the totalitarian regime

Do you think a totalitarian big brother regime that controlls big data and information with the new networking engineering possibilities as 5G will be the ordinary model for governance?  Data is both a national security as well as a personal matter. Preserving it should be constitutional on the national level, and people (the owner of the data) should be the only controller of it, making sure it is well preserved.  With the upcoming 5G and the great bandwidth and between 40 to 100 times faster then 4G possibilities it offer, your control over your private information and data will not be any more a privilege, you are out their virtually naked. Of course, 5G will bring us great advantages that we would have never thought, convienance like you never imagined. Yet with this futuristic fantastic era we are about to embark, comes a great responsibility of protection our data. The problem is, when governments install a nation wide firewall -as a way of national security and personal...

A walk under the full moon: A late cold meeting with Modefjord.

Late 26th-early 27th March 2013 So, I decided I cannot miss that amazing scenery. I arrived home, changed my clothes, got my camera, and started to walk. It takes around five minutes to go there. I arrived and was struck by the amazing scenery, it captured my heart, my brain was trying to fathom and comprehend the details of this beautifulness. I took out my camera, set the mode to make the shutter open for fifteen seconds in order to absorb and collect much light, took couple of pictures. The weather was rather cold, almost zero degrees, so whilst taking the picture and trying to fix the right position of the camera and the tripod, I was experiencing a slight pain in my fingers as they were simply freezing. I then wandered around to relocate and get another view of this wonderful scene. So, I started moving, got myself in a dark forest-like road, it was not long, yet it was long enough not to see its end. I was wearing my contact lenses, which in fact was not very helpful bec...

A walk under the full moon: The unorthodox moon’s silverish light.

26th of March, 2013 I was walking home from the city center, around ten pm. It was a cold -yet warm if compared by last year's weather-lonely night, Snow was melting away; probably making roam for the new fresh snow that is yet to come. Streets were empty, it is always empty at that hour, while in general the city was empty as it was a holiday time and everyone have found some place to go to in the south of the continent. As I was walking, I have noticed the full moon. It was in its eternal perfect round shape. While the moon was strongly visible, clouds were fighting to swipe it and hide it from the sky, an indefinite battle. The unorthodox moon’s silverish light cast upon the Fjord in a magical, yet indeed a perfect scene that no human can duplicate. The mountains were yet dark, as if the moon chose not to give away its blessings to the magnificent mountains, jealousy? Maybe. Baffled was I, that I could not take my eyes off this amazing nature. That at a point, I remembered ...

On intelligence

I have always been fascinated by the notion of intelligence and how to define it.  For me, I find it difficult to include all people under one sort of intelligence, on the other hand, I do belive in a categorical sort of intelligence. Let me give you some examples: There are those who are socially intelligence, whose presence is on the par of Gandalf, those who know how to get with so many people in such a short time, the party guys. There is the Math guys, those who are good with numbers and calculations. The ones who are always grab the check after every gathering and calculate who should pay what, the ones who will do taxes and accounting, or modeling a multi tier multi objective problems and have fun while doing so. There are the linguistics, those who know languages and know how to learn them. You teach them few basic sentences and they will turn it to a full basic conversation. The ones who will impress you by the number of languages they know. There are the gamers, the o...

To subside to depression

To subside to depression is not an act of irrationality. Au contraire, it can be the most logical decision at a point of time. It is not easy to fight this black hole of depression, it is way easier to settle for a defeat. It is agonizing to find someone seized to exist, to let go of his earthly condition. I hope you don’t fall in the pit and follow the rabbit. No matter what I do or say, it want change what happened, it won’t matter. I have come by this pit many a times, yet I was not ready to meet my maker, as Borges did. I am not a special one, I am merely a normal human, but sometimes I look into the mirror and I see emptiness, just as if I have lost my shadow, my soul, myself. Sometimes tears escape my eyes for those lost souls who lost their fights. Aint easy to take that decision, to willingly chose to stop living, it is actually one of the most daring decisions one can take. Also, it can mean ultimate loss of hope and decisive abandonment. To be sane and take ...

A Schrödinger Pi book

I want you to imagine a huge library, with infinite books, books in every language and every topic you imagine. Now imagine with me an old heavy book. A book that contains only numbers, infinite random combinations. Like the decimal representation of Pi, the fraction never ends. Now, this means in this book, lies all the information in the world, and also that means information yet to be discovered. Information very specific to you as what did you have for breakfast and general information as the rebellion of the first Martians (Humans born and raised in Mars) against the settlers. Now, let’s imagine that somehow you could actually decipher and extract information. That means that all the knowledge is actually before you. Here comes the funny part, I have a question for you: What do you want to know? What are you so eager to know that you do anything for the exchange of this piece of information? Wait, there is a trick here, do you actually want to know? I mean knowing will spoil...

On identity

The negation of oneself allows a new form of identity-less personas. This sounds like a multiple identity bipolar psychological problem. Yet, when one loses his own skin, and get out of the cocoon, a beautiful butterfly will emerge. Free your mind from the downgrading thoughts and ideas that pull you down to the unholy norms, the societal craved boundaries. Do not chain your brain and lock it down. You are not a prisoner, you are not a prisoner. Free your imagination. Wake-dream about Borges Library of Babel. Be Zhuangzi’s butterfly. Wonder about nothing and everything. Travel into a deep minded state where you are everyone and everyone is you. Be the wind and sunken the ships of the mind invaders. Accept your own skin and image. But most importantly define who you really are. At least, know your boundaries, and then break them. Create new milestones, challenge yourself and outskirt your predefined limitations. Get out of your comfort zone, declare yourself free from all that cha...

Something about something: A midnight ranting.

It is the self-destructive man in us that revel. We forget tomorrow, yet we just want everything to end. We are weird, sometimes we want the ends, and sometimes we hate that the end is coming. We capitalize on the past to bear the misery of the present for a fantastic future. Ahhh “Should I drink coffee or should kill myself” do not you think that “Sisyphus” had the perfect ending, so interestingly beautiful. Sisyphus must be truly happy. Do you copy? Maybe it is just some blank infinity, so do not worry yourself. I have walked this road so many times, the fall, the gloomy cloudy cold weather. It is not the same place, but it feels the same. The same path at least. One may at some point recognize the ending. Yet, one closes his eyes and hope for a better journey at least. It is difficult for one to keep his sanity. It is the pit of self-destructive insanity that I truly fear.  I may be fulfilling my self-destructive fantasy of falling in the same exact pit. The funny th...

A moment in the Space-Time.

A couple of days ago, I decided not to take my usual route to the office. I lusted for a change, new thoughts and ideas. I was walking down this new road, the sun was a little shy, taking cover behind the unending stream of clouds. It was not cold, a little chilly, this kind of cold weather you enjoy when you are having a hot drink, preferably a good quality coffee with the occasional good quality cigarette that does not leave an after taste. But then, just for a brief moment in the current fabric of the space-time continuum, the sun decided to overcome its shyness and unleash its warm beautiful graceful light. It was as if the sunlight hit me in the face, for a second there I was disoriented, yet I felt complete and enlightened. I felt I was disintegrated into the smallest of the atoms, I was the air you breathe, the small particles of dust travelling around you, and I was the sun rays the passer byes enjoyed. I was –again- connected to the universe, I was the universe and the unive...

Citizen of the world

I miss the times when I used to walk tens of kilometers in a newly visited strange city, the pain and blisters you get from walking. Walking with a map trying to find your next adventure, and then suddenly realizing you have been walking around the same block, or even better you find yourself in front of a great monument or a historical building. The times you are almost next to broke but you are certain your memories get richer and you experience the fact that you are a citizen of the world, a small fly in a vast universe, a collection of memories, experiences, thoughts and ideas. It is not your color, your language, nor your passport that identifies you, these are obstacles lied to divide us into nations while we are mere citizens of this Earth. I assume if everyone traveled the globe, our different ideas and thoughts, our different beliefs and values will dissolve, and then we shall become true citizens of this world, humans with no differences.

The illusionist or the illusion of being conscious

-Sir it is just uhm -..... -it is just you are a mere projection of my mind -um what? -you are form of an idea, I just created you. -excuse me?!!! -you think you are conscious live being? -am I not?!! -no you are not, I gave you the illusion of being conscious, the illusion of thinking and having an option, will you know what? You don't. -... -you see I have lived a thousand lives, I have been here and there, I have created hundred universes and billions of people, I wrote all the novels and books, I constructed all the buildings and demolished them, I created symphonies and played them, I made snow and the heat to melt it, for me it is just the luxury of thinking to materialize my ideas. You are a mere idea my dear sir. -I see you have lost your grip on reality and slid into downfall of hallucinations. -let us do a small experiment, I will count down to three, and you will not be here anymore, as I will not be. One, two, three. Our friend is ...

Rebel, Rebel, Rebel

From the day we are born we are meant to be curious human beings, explorers of the mythical unknown, but day after day they keep feeding us pieces of information and lies; you can not do that, you do not wanna be that, you should not wear this, you must do that and that, they kill our imagination and hopes, they murder our curiosity and the keenness to know, our love to understand and to appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. They box us into predefined models of thoughts, needs and wants. We are only allowed to believe and see what they want to believe and see. We are cataloged into human-like humans. You should work  all your life, you should be married by now and have children, you will never be happy, you will always want, need and cherish the material, you will never be satisfied, you will always want more, no matter how much wealth and material you accumulate you will all want more. They made you forget that you were once an explorer, a child that cares not for the mate...

The Washington Consensus and Egypt

While Egyptian newspapers did not mention any agenda Egypt should follow in order to cash the $12 Billion 3 years loan, yet, a prescription of 10 economic policy changes are customary to constitute the developing countries reform packages. This prescription is developed by Washington based financial institutions as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and the US. Treasury Department; hence its name: The Washington Consensus . These 10 economic recommendations are: 1. Fiscal policy discipline, with avoidance of large fiscal deficits relative to GDP; 2. Redirection of public spending from subsidies ("especially indiscriminate subsidies") toward broad-based provision of key pro-growth, pro-poor services like primary education, primary health care and infrastructure investment; 3. Tax reform, broadening the tax base and adopting moderate marginal tax rates; 4. Interest rates that are market determined and positive (but moderate) in real terms; 5. Competitive excha...

First is epic but the last is Legendary. Eugene Cernan: The last man on the Moon

Everyone is/was mentioning "Neil Armstrong" and the small step giant leap quote (since the july anniversary) , but no one ever remember that last man on to walk the moon. Sure, the first is EPIC, but the last is LEGENDARY. For 43 years and more to come Eugene Cernan will be the last man to walk the surface of our beautiful moon.  The significance of such an event, makes me wonder: " why always the first is celebrated?" The first man to reach the south or to reach the north pole, the first of his name king whatsoever will be murdered anyways. One seems to forget the merits to be the last, we are blindfolded, tricked to believe that "the first...", "the largest...", "the most fanciest...", "the most luxurious..." is  epitaph of one's life.  No, No it should not only be one's aim to be the first. Do not forget that many is remembered for their last deeds and words.  Do not be tricked by the first, but honor and remem...

A sickening, disgusting, futile life

One is being bombarded by uncanny ads of pretentious sicking commodities that we think we need but we just merely want, shitty designer clothes and perfumes, probably not even a designer, just another bitchy singer who got extra cash out of fools pockets who attended her concert, then thought, hey, why not put my name on a lame ass perfume and sell it to that same guy. Luxurious cars and top notch mobile phones with high end technological advances that we will never use. Running shoes signed by a football player that I do not give fuck about- I just want a running shoes. Coffee chains, labeled water bottles with health benefits and FDA approved stickers. Hand made or whatever watches that will run accurately for like ever, hey watchmakers, I don't care that I will miss part of a second in the next 100 freaking years. High end apartments in high fenced compounds sold for millions, because why not? Some guy working abroad will think its a good investment idea, will see about ...

The day I have died. Part one: A vicious loop

I was dead. I was standing in the middle of my room. My room; a normal bachelor room: old food on the table near the bed where the blanket lies on the corner, what appears as a chair; clearly mounted by a pyramid of cloths. The desk is next to me, that’s where my laptop, tens of unfinished coffee cups-which at some point I use them as an ashtray too. The laptop is always open, mainly on desktop; you can see one of Max Payne’s comic strips as a background. In this background you can see Max Payne falling, while he is saying “No matter how long you spend climbing up. You can still fall back down in an instant”. I was standing in the middle of the room, staring at my dead body lying on the floor. I was lying dead in agony and misery. You can see the gestures of misery and agony crafted on my face. Agony because I was mad to die at such a young age. At that age you are full of energy, dreams and hope. When you feel that you have the potential to change the world, you start to try, ...
